March 25 - Billy’s Lounge
SJ will be back in at Billy’s on March 25th. Be sure to tune into WYCE 88.1 FM at 4PM to hear an in studio performance and interview with Sweet Japonic. Also, the new shirts are selling like crazy. Grab one while you still can!
April 16 - Billy’s Lounge
This show will be our last Billy’s show before graduation. Head out and enjoy a late night party with SJ to celebrate the end of Winter semester and the warm April weather. The band will also be appearing on WZZM’s ‘Take Five’ that morning. More details are below.
April 17 - Rotary International Benefit at East GR HS
We’re very pleased to be working with Rotary Interact Club of Grand Rapids to put on this event. All proceeds will go to benefit Rotary International’s clean water project, which brings clean water to impoverished areas where tens of thousands die each year from contaminated water.
Tickets are $10, available at the door or in advance at EGRHS. This is a very rare ALL AGES show in Grand Rapids, so don’t miss out!
UPCOMING RADIO & TV PERFORMANCES
Sweet Japonic will be playing live, in studio on WYCE 88.1FM on March 25th. Tune in to 88.1FM at 4PM on Wednesday to hear some new and old SJ tunes performed live on air. The band will also be performing a live acoustic set on April 16th on WZZM 13’s ‘Take Five Grand Rapids’. The live performance will take place at 9:00 AM. Check your local listings for WZZM 13 channel listings!

Thanks to the wonderful support of our fans, She Was Doin’ Fine stayed in the station’s top 10 for nearly 3 months and continues to get great play. NEW VEHICLE
The band is currently in the market for a new band vehicle. We’ve been shopping around for buses, RVs, and vans. We’ll be posting information about how fans can help contribute to the new vehicle and get some really cool donation packages in return. Details will be coming soon.
Our goal is to get a reliable vehicle that will allow us to make those long trips and move to a national touring level. With our plans to head out east this Summer and continued Midwest touring, we need some serious wheels. If you have a vehicle for sale or know of anyone selling, let us know!
ALBUM UPDATE
The new album is coming along nicely. Many of you may have heard some new songs at recent shows. We plan to continue writing new songs and testing them out live. We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on the progress of the album and will have more details regarding the release as the album nears completion.
MIDWEST TOUR DATES & EAST COAST TOUR
We have a handful of dates scheduled throughout the Midwest for late Spring and early Summer. Check the schedule for a show near you! If SJ isn’t coming close enough to your town, email Matt at matt@sweetjaponicmusic.com and we’ll try and head your way!
As you can see, we have 2.5 weeks scheduled for the band’s first East Coast Tour! SJ will be touring throughout 8 states in June! We have 90% of the tour booked and will be announcing the entire tour soon. If you know of any great places to play out east, feel free to let us know. If you have friends or family out east, be sure to spread the word!
